The CPA and EA track options do not tie directly to your particular classification. CPAs can get the full 24 hours of credit through their state organization even though accounting and IDOR presentations do not meet the IRS requirements. If you want or need the accounting and/or the IDOR presentation and you are not a CPA, the IRS will not allow those 3 hours of credit even if you attend.
Those selecting the EA track will attend 3 sessions in a breakout group, which will meet at the same time as the general accounting and IDOR sessions. You will still get credit for 2 hours of accounting because the lease accounting sessions count as both accounting and tax topics.
Those choosing the EA track will be provided with the material for the accounting and IDOR topics, but those choosing the CPA track will not get the material for the extra EA topics.
